Hello
and welcome to Painted Cougar Ranch. The ranch was founded in
1997, and has been developed to raise quality paint horses in
a natural setting. The ranch is situated in Shep's Canyon, about
10 miles south of Hot Springs, in South Dakota. It is comprised
of a wonderful variety of landforms; including natural prairie,
Ponderosa pine covered hillsides, and a peak that rises 700 feet
above the prairie floor. The horses have full reign of the nearly
400 acres that comprise the ranch land, and are therefore confident
and sure-footed in multiple types of terrain.
